Document Everything — Now
Save every receipt, screenshot, email, and call log from day one. One folder, one dated log, never delete anything.
Not legal advice — educational content only. For high-stakes or complex cases, consult an attorney.
Core Principles (do these from day one)
- Save everything. Every receipt, screenshot, email, text, chat transcript, invoice, contract, terms of service, voicemail, call log, shipping label, packaging, defective product itself.
- Get everything in writing. After any phone call or in-person conversation, send a follow-up email summarizing what was said, who you spoke to, date/time, and what they promised. "Per our call today at 2:15pm, you said X."
- Never delete anything. No texts, no emails, no app messages — even after the dispute ends.
- One dispute folder. Keep all evidence in a single labeled folder (physical + cloud backup).
- Dated log. Maintain a running timeline: date, event, who, what was said, reference numbers.
