Not legal advice — educational content only. For high-stakes or complex cases, consult an attorney.
Preparing for the Hearing
- Outline your story chronologically — no legalese, just facts.
- Organize exhibits in a binder: tabs, numbered, indexed. Bring three copies (you, arbitrator, company).
- Prepare direct testimony — questions you'll answer, or a narrative if pro se.
- Prepare cross-examination — 5–10 pointed questions for each company witness.
- Prepare a closing — what you proved, what relief you want, why the law supports it.
- Dress business casual. Arrive early. Bring water, pen, paper, phone charger.
- Technical check if the hearing is by Zoom — test camera, mic, screen share, exhibit display.
